Bitcoin mining generated over $ 15 billion in revenue in 2021
According to recent estimates, bitcoin miners made over $ 15 billion in revenue over the course of 2021. The estimate represents a 206% year-over-year increase, according to The Block Research’s Digital Asset Outlook Report 2022. It should be noted that the estimate is based on the notion that mining companies sell their accrued digital assets to pay for electricity and other resources; some miners cling to some of their mined coins.

As noted in the graph above, estimated mining revenue peaked in March, when miners brought in about $ 1.75 billion, including $ 167 million in transaction fees. Over the course of the year, bitcoin mining revenue was supported by the surge in prices for the digital asset, which reached an all-time high in early November.
